Should I Choose Microblading or Semi-Permanent Make up?

One of the great things about the beauty industry is that treatments are always improving.

Throughout history makeup and cosmetic procedures have continued to evolve, meaning women (and men) who want to look their best with a bit of help along the way have a wide choice of cosmetic options.

One new and fast growing cosmetic procedure is MicrobladingMicroblading was first known as eyebrows embroidery, and is administered slightly differently to traditional semi-permanent make up

How does Microblading work?

Microblading uses a specialist tool which holds disposable micro blades. When administered by a qualified cosmetic technician, the Microblading tool allows the pigment (or colour) to be placed within the dermis of the skin.

The use of this disposable blade means that the colour can be deposited closer to the surface of the clients skin than with traditional semi-permanent makeup application done with a machine. For some clients, this can create the cleaner and crisper hair strokes they desire, and therefore more natural looking results.

How is Microblading different to semi-permanent makeup?

In a lot of ways, the Microblading procedure is similar to the application of traditional semi-permanent make up. The main difference between the two procedures comes from the tools that are used to create the end result. As the Microblading tool can deposit the colour closer to the surface of the skin, while traditional semi-permanent makeup deposits the pigment lower within the dermis, the results are often more subtle and natural looking.

How long will Microblading last?

As with all semi-permanent cosmetic treatments, Microblading will need topping up from time to time. As an average, semi permanent make up and Microblading will usually require a top up every twelve to eighteen months to keep the brows looking their best.

Does Microblading hurt?

Before starting the Microblading procedure, Katie Elizabeth will administer a topical anaesthetic to the skin and surrounding areas. This anaesthetic should make the procedure relatively painless, but it can be topped up throughout the duration if you need it.

How much does it cost?

All technicians and clinics vary in their costs, but at Katie Elizabeth cosmetics our Microblading treatments start from £275 This cost includes a pre-treatment consultation, the treatment itself and full aftercare as your skin heals.
